Striped beakfish

Striped beakfish prefers living in reef and rock coastal areas. The fish feeds on sea urchins, barnacles, and crustaceans. In Japan, it is also called as fantasy fish. Its market price is high due to the scarcity. Striped beakfish broodstock was introduced in 2012 and successfully established farming technology. The fish may become a major cage culture species in Penghu county.
